Handmade furniture and home decor - woodworking

At Native Range we take pride in crafting every single piece by hand, right here in the Ozarks of Missouri. We believe in the beauty of simplicity and the value of working with our hands. That’s why, unlike many businesses today, we don’t mass-produce items or cut corners. Instead, we start with raw southern yellow pine, sourced locally from Arkansas, and turn it into something that can become a special part of your home. Whether it’s a sturdy wine rack, a customized coat rack, or custom signs for your space, each item is made with care, one at a time.

When you buy from us, you’re not just getting a product; you’re investing in a piece of craftsmanship with a story. Every shelf or rack we make starts out as raw wood—untouched and full of potential. From there, it goes through a careful process, from sanding to staining, to give it a smooth and warm finish. We then add a coat of polyurethane to make sure it lasts in your home, whether it’s holding your favorite bottle of wine or organizing your family’s coats by the door.

Working with raw materials also gives us the flexibility to ensure that every piece is unique. Wood grain patterns differ from item to item, and the hand-finishing process guarantees that no two pieces are identical. That’s part of the charm. We want our customers to feel like they have something truly one-of-a-kind.

We often get asked why we take this approach instead of sourcing from mass manufacturers, where everything is already pre-made. The answer is simple: It’s about quality and connection. Our goal isn’t to churn out hundreds of identical products. We want you to feel the difference that comes from owning something that’s been made with intention and care, knowing that the wood comes from forests nearby and that each item has been shaped by skilled hands in a local workshop.

A good example of this is our wine racks. We could easily go the route of pre-fabricated materials, but instead, we choose to build each one from scratch, giving attention to every joint and detail. The final product is not just a wine rack, but a beautifully crafted piece of furniture you’ll be proud to display in your home. And because we make everything ourselves, we can also customize your piece—whether that’s a specific stain color or adding personal touches like engraving.

In a world where everything seems to be made by machines, we like to think of ourselves as part of the old-school craftsmanship movement. And that’s something we’re proud of. At Native Range we don’t just make things for the sake of making them. We make things because we love what we do, and we know that the people who buy from us appreciate the extra care we put into each item. It’s this connection between creator and customer that really sets us apart.

And hey, we love hearing from our customers too! If you’ve got an idea for a custom project or need something special for your home, don’t hesitate to reach out. We’ve worked on all kinds of projects, from one-of-a-kind wall art to photo display shelves that help showcase your favorite memories.

The next time you’re looking for something that’s made with heart and hands, know that we’re here, crafting away in our workshop, ready to build something just for you.

At Native Range LLC, every product is crafted by hand using raw southern yellow pine from Arkansas. We specialize in custom-made wine racks, coat racks, signs, and more. Check out our latest creations or get in touch for a custom piece made just for you.

Caring for Your Beautiful New Welcome Sign

Here at Native Range, we pride ourselves on making sure you receive a quality welcome sign that will last a long time!

The steps we take for you!

      1. Our signs are made from solid wood. We do not use particle, laminate or strand board which can absorb water, swell, and rot.
      2. We use a durable oil based stain and high quality outdoor paint.
      3. We coat our products with poly, however we do not apply it heavily as it darkens over time and will discolor the sign (yellow).
      4. We use a water based poly on our signs instead because it doesn't discolor as badly as a petroleum based product. (The poly is also matte so you don’t have to worry about a really shiny glaze on it)

While we take these steps to ensure your welcome sign is durable and ready for outdoor display like anything exposed to the elements it will wear over time.  Here are some tips to help your sign last as long as possible.

      Care tips for you!

      1. Keep it in a covered location, if possible. If your sign is in a covered location out of direct sunlight or moisture (like a covered porch), it should last a very long time without much extra help other than the occasional dusting. Your welcome sign should look great for years to come.

      2. Use a heavy duty weather protective coating. If your sign is going to receive direct sunlight or moisture we recommend a can of Helmsman Spar Urethane to spray on it every 6 months or so. The spray is preferable to a wipe on product so you’re not dragging dust or stain pigment over the lighter colored letters (or white paint if your sign is white) which may discolor them. The spar provides UV protection from fading, as well as moisture protection. (It is found at most hardware stores for around $10 in the paint and stain section!)
